Bounce Rate

Percentage of visitors who leave after viewing only a product and do not visit any other pages in their session during a set timeframe.

Note: Bounce rates are calculated as inverse points since a lower bounce rate is a better outcome. For example, if an attribute bounce rate is set with a minimum of 10% and a maximum of 50%, a product with a 10% bounce rate or below will be awarded full points value, a product with 50% or above will be awarded no points, and products with bounce rates between 10% and 50% will be awarded a proportional point value.

Frequently asked questions

What does the Bounce Rate attribute measure?

The percentage of visitors who viewed a product page and left without visiting any other page in their session, within the timeframe you choose.

Is a higher bounce rate better or worse for ranking?

Worse. Bounce Rate is scored as inverse points: with a Min of 10% and a Max of 50%, a product at or below 10% earns full points, one at or above 50% earns none, and rates in between earn proportionally.

How is Bounce Rate different from Exit Rate?

A bounce is a single-page session that started and ended on the product page. An exit is any session that ended on the product page, however many pages came before it.
