What does the Cost attribute use?

The 'cost per item' value set in Shopify, averaged across all of a product's variants.

What if cost is not filled in on my products?

Products without a cost in Shopify have nothing to score, and Margin cannot be calculated for them either. Fill in cost per item on the variant in Shopify and Dynasort picks it up on the next sync.

How would I use Cost in sorting?

Usually indirectly through Margin. Cost on its own is useful in a managed collection condition, for example to gather high-cost items into a premium collection or exclude them from a clearance one.
