Exit Rate
Exit Rate
Section titled “Exit Rate”Percentage of visitors who leave the store from a product page.
Note: Exit rates are calculated as inverse points since a lower exit rate is a better outcome. For example, if an attribute exit rate is set with a minimum of 10% and a maximum of 50%, a product with a 10% exit rate or below will be awarded full points value, a product with 50% or above will be awarded no points, and products with exit rates between 10% and 50% will be awarded a proportional point value.
Frequently asked questions
What does the Exit Rate attribute measure?
The percentage of visitors whose session ended on the product's page, meaning they left the store from there, within the timeframe you choose.
Is a high exit rate good or bad for ranking?
Bad. Exit Rate is scored as inverse points: with a Min of 10% and a Max of 50%, a product at or below 10% earns full points, one at or above 50% earns none, and rates in between earn proportionally.
How is Exit Rate different from Bounce Rate?
Every bounce is an exit but not every exit is a bounce. Bounce Rate counts only single-page sessions; Exit Rate counts every session that ended on the page after any number of earlier pages.
